Certified ACE Trainer-Basics

The certification holder has earned the Certified ACE Trainer–Basics (CAT–B) designation by demonstrating proficiency in the delivery of training for the ACT Certified Educator–Basics (ACE–B) certification program. In addition, the CAT–B certification holder has achieved all requirements of ACE–B certification, including mastering the content of the training program and passing a knowledge-based assessment related to fundamental aspects of the ACT Test.

By meeting the CAT–B requirements, the certification holder has met the standards set forth by ACT and has demonstrated the proficiency needed to train others seeking to attain the ACT Certified Educator–Basics credential.

Criteria to earn this badge

The certification holder has met the following requirements.
1. Read and agreed to the ACT Certified Educator Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
2. Passed an examination demonstrating highly proficient knowledge of the fundamentals of the ACT Test, including but not limited to knowledge of administration, procedures, resources, test security, customer care, score reporting, interpretation, and benchmarks.
3. Undergone instruction related to delivery of the ACE–B training program and successfully provided co-training under the supervision of a master trainer.
4. Successfully passed an interview with a Master ACE Trainer.
5. Demonstrated the ability to effectively train the ACE–B curriculum in a simulated course delivery environment.
6. Agreed to be observed or have their performance otherwise audited periodically.
7. Agreed to participate in ongoing training as changes are implemented in the ACT Test that are relevant to the ACE–B program.

The credential holder is authorized to use the CAT–B designation. The certification will be valid for two years from the date of award.

The CAT–B certification holder is bound by the standards of ACT related to the protection of ACT’s intellectual property. The CAT–B certification holder is required to demonstrate the highest levels of ethical behavior and professionalism as described in the Ethics and Integrity Statement. The certification is subject to revocation if ACT receives notice that those standards are violated.
